Update

We can confirm that the majority of settlements impacted by the Reserve Bank of Australia payment file response issue that arose yesterday have completed this afternoon.

There are some Victorian-based settlements that require further action. Unfortunately, these specific settlements will be unable to complete today. We will be in touch with these customers directly to advise on next steps.

We appreciate that this has been a frustrating experience and we thank you for your patience as we have worked to resolve this issue with the RBA.

The RBA has advised that this was a technical issue at their end and we continue to review the issue with them in order to understand the nature of the problem.

Update

We can confirm the payment file response issue impacting Reserve Bank of Australia and their transactions is now resolved.

While the majority of impacted workspaces have settled as expected, there are some workspaces which are still being processed.

These are expected to be completed over the course of today.

There is no action for those affected at this stage.

We understand this is an unfortunate outcome and acknowledge the inconvenience this has caused you and your customers.

We reiterate that this was not a PEXA issue and we continue to work closely with the Reserve Bank and our partners to complete all settlements.

We can confirm the payment file response issue impacting Reserve Bank of Australia and their transactions is now resolved.

While the majority of impacted workspaces have settled as expected, there were some workspaces which were unable to complete.

These will complete this morning (28/1/2026).

There is no action for those affected at this stage.

We understand this is an unfortunate outcome and acknowledge the inconvenience this has caused you and your customers.

We reiterate that this was not a PEXA issue and we continue to work closely with the Reserve Bank and our partners to complete all settlements.

PEXA is continuing to process the backlog of settlements that accumulated over the course of today as a result of this issue and we thank you for your patience as we do so. PEXA is working with the Reserve Bank to have this backlog cleared as soon as possible.

You may still see some affected Workspaces showing a status of 'Ready and Settling' while settlements are being completed. This is expected and does not require any action from you.

Additionally, while settlements may have taken place, please be aware that disbursed funds are subject to banks’ standard processing times, and all bank processing times vary. It is important to note that clearance times may be delayed further as banks work through the backlog of disbursements.

We’ll continue to monitor processing closely to ensure all settlements complete successfully and we thank you again for your patience.
